Picket Fence Studios March 2023 Release!

Hello everyone and welcome to a fabulous new release from Picket Fence Studios! I'm excited to have been invited to guest design for this release and have three cards to share with you.

My favorite set from this release is this gorgeous Escape With Me stamp set. I stamped it on watercolor cardstock with Versafine ink and watercolored it with my Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors.


I wanted to add a little more subtle color so I added some inkblending with Distress Oxide inks and splattered the background with ink and water. 

To add a little extra magic to the tree I added some Gold Glimmer Metallic ink to the leaves and trunk. I adhered my watercolored piece to a black cardbase and that was it for this card.

My next card showcases one of the new stencils from this release. It's the 6x6 Pathways Stencil and I inkblended it onto white cardstock with some inks from Hero Arts. I used pink, yellow and blue so that I could mix the colors to get a full rainbow. 

I used a mini slimline die to cut the Love sentiment so that I could create a shaker card. 

I finished the card off with a die cut sentiment and some fun, black heart embellishments. 

My final card showcases the new Royal Sweet Peas Stamp set. I stamped it in black and colored it with copic markers.

I added gray drop shadows to add a little extra depth.

I also used a fine-tipped sharpie to add some random dots and shading.

Picket Fence Studios STAMPtember Release

Hi everybody! I'm popping in with a fun card from the lates Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release! Now it's Picket Fence Studio's turn to join the fun with an adorable cat stamp set called, Sarcastic Kitties. You can get just the stamp set, or, go big and get the stamp and die bundle.

I decided to go with a mixed media look for my mini-slimline card. I grabbed a watercolored, galaxy background from my stash and then added some gold mousse through the SSS Circle Dots Stencil to add a little texture and shine.

Then I watercolored on of the cats from the set using my Karin markers. I only used two colors ( a gray and a pink) but I was able to mix them to achieve a range of shades.

I heat embossed my sentiment in black  and added some extra detail to the background with a black posca pen. Then I adhered the cat to my card with foam tape, attached the background to a black cardbase, and called it good!

Picket Fence Studios: One Stamp, Three Cards!

Hi Everybody! I hope you all are having a great day so far. I am because today I get to share some of Picket Fence Studio's newest release with you. I decided to pick one gorgeous stamp set called, Face the Sun and create three different cards with it using the same layout. 

My first card features the large, gorgeous sunflower from this set. I used my copic markers to color this.

After coloring with my copics I added some extra details as well as shadows and highlights to my card.

 The final touch was to add color to the background with my Distress Crayons. I smeared the color around with my finger until I had the look that I wanted. I love the sentiment on this card, "Turn your face towards the sun and the shadows will fall behind you."

For my next card I decided to do some watercoloring with my Arteza brush pens. I started with a sheet of Arches watercolor paper and heat embossed my image in white.

Then, I watercolored using a paintbrush to pick up the ink off my media mat ( I scribbled it on with my brush pens).

The last things I did were to add a fantastic sentiment and some embellishements. I think that this is a little advice that we can all take to heart right now as our days are so drastically different from a month ago.

For my third card I decided to watercolor again but this time I used my Daniel Smith paints. Again I heat embossed the image in white onto Arches Coldpressed Watercolor paper.

Then selected a rainbow of colors from my Daniel Smith watercolor palette and washed the colors over the image allowing the colors to blend. After that I dried I cut the image out with my scissors.

 I used a black card base and created a shimmering, spattered background using a shimmer spray and Hero Arts white metallic paint. Then, I popped the flower up on foam adhesive to give the card some dimension and added some sequins.

You be You, Dragon Girl!

Hey everybody! I hope you all are having the most amazing day today! I am stopping by today with a little redemption post. On the 20th of every month I'm in a blog hop with my Crafty Friends. It's an awesome hop because we feature just one company and we all share products and projects that we love. Well, back in January we featured Picket Fence Studios... but when the hop went live I was at Creativation working non-stop (so fun!) and I only had time to color this gorgeous image but I wasn't able to put a card together. I felt a little bit like I failed my Crafty Friends so today I'm calling a redo for myself. I finished coloring this beautiful image from Picket Fence Studio's Dany Girl stamp set and turned it into a card...

This stamp set is truly gorgeous and the sentiment speaks to me because it's something I truly believe in. I stamped Dany Girl in no-line ink from Ink on 3 and did a little no-line coloring with my copic markers. After coloring I decided to add a little extra depth with a black sharpie and some highlights with a white gel pen.

I ink blended the background in Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink using my Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes. Then, I splattered the background with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink and stamped my sentiment using Hero Arts INTENS-ified Black Ink. I cut Dany Girl out by hand (because I added extra flowers in her hair) but there is a coordinating die which makes cutting her out super easy. I adhered Dany to my card front using foam adhesive to make her pop out from the card.

I added some sequins in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to finish my card off... and I've gotta say that I am so glad I came back and finished this. I truly love this stamp set!

Copic Coloring a Magical Unicorn

Hey guys! Happy middle of the week to ya! Today's card is one I made a while back but never shared. Some of you may know that my family moved in June/July and my craft supplies were put away for far too long. When I finally had my desk set back up all I wanted to do was color! This gorgeous unicorn was perfect for what I wanted. It's from a set called Kylee's Unicorn from Picket Fence Studios and all of the images are sweet and filled with magic.

I love coloring images like this unicorn where I can mix and match copic markers from different families until they just look like magic together. I will list the colors that I've used at the bottom of my post in case you'd like to try the combos out for yourself. I did add a little extra shading with my pencils as well as highlights with a white gel pen.

After coloring the scene I stamped the sentiment in black and added some gray splatters. Then I took a sparkly Sakura gel roller in silver glitter and added some stars to the background. Sequins were the last magical touch to this card front.

I added a strip of silver foil below the colored image piece. Then I foam mounted the whole thing onto a black card base. After having too much time off of crafting this card was so much fun to make. It's amazing how sitting back down at your craft desk can make you feel like you've come home (even in a new home).
