Video: Tonic Studios Stamp Club Blog Hop & Giveaway: Snowmies

Hey everybody and welcome to today's launch of Snowmies from Tonic Studios! I've got a ton of cards and a VIDEO for you today so I am going to just dive right in! Oh! Also there are cards and envelopes in the video that are not on my blog today so make sure you head over there to see everything I've got to share today!

If you'd like to head straight to the shop here are my affiliate links:

For my first card I made a slim-line card with trees and snowmies from this month's Snowmies release. I created a custom sentiment using the large die cut letters from both Patterns & Prints and Backgrounds & Borders.

To create the background I did an easy watercolor wash using Distress Oxide inks. Then I sprayed the background with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray from Hero Arts which gave it a sparkly, snowy finish. I added snowflakes that I die-cut from holowaves cardstock to the background.

To finish my card off I added the trees and snowmies with foam adhesive and the letters with liquid glue. Some Nuvo Dream Drops in Indigo Eclipse.

Now, I promised you a VIDEO and you can check that out HERE (affialiate links may be used at no extra cost to you)...
If you are having trouble watching the video you can CLICK HERE  to watch it on YouTube

For my next card I made another slimline card. I inkblended the background in bold blues and then I used the stencil that comes in the Snowmies bundle to stencil snowflakes onto the background using glacier paste. It came out super sparkly and gorgeous! at the bottom of the card I sprayed the background with White Iridescent Shimmer Spray to  make it look like snow.

I watercolored the sledding snowmies and die cut them out. I placed them in the center of the card using foam tape.

Then I added my sentiments at the top and bottom of the card to finish it off.

For this next card I built two snowmies using the snowman builder dies. I built them in different sizes and gave them each a mug of something warm and delicious to drink.

I used white glitter paper to create some snow drifts and I heat embossed my sentiments in white on black.

I inkblended my background and then I used the falling snow side of the stencil to add snow using my Moonstone Glimmer paste. After that all I had to do was glue it all together and add it to a black cardbase.

My next card was really easy to put together. I used patterned paper on the card base then covered that with a panel that I textured using the texture plates from the new mini slimline envelope builder die set. I added white, glitter snowflakes on top of the white panel.

I built myself an easy snowman using the snowman builder dies. I added him to the card along with some snow drifts.

The last step was to add a sentiment: Sending warm holiday hugs! I love that sentiment!

You can use this set to make some really beautiful and easy to reproduce cards too. For this next card I sprayed some white cardstock with my Dina Wakley acrylic gloss sprays in shade of green. Then I cut some trees out using the dies from the Snowmies bundle.

I covered the cardbase in red, striped patterned paper and splattered it with Midas Touch. Then I added a strip of vellum and adhered the trees on top using foam tape.

I added a beautiful sentiment from the Christmas Rose stamp set and then some gold sequins to finish it off.

Ok, that's it for today! Thanks so much for joining us today's fun release. We have a great giveaway and a blog hop to share with you today so please scroll down for all of that info!

Have an amazing day!

Picket Fence Studios STAMPtember Release

Hi everybody! I'm popping in with a fun card from the lates Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release! Now it's Picket Fence Studio's turn to join the fun with an adorable cat stamp set called, Sarcastic Kitties. You can get just the stamp set, or, go big and get the stamp and die bundle.

I decided to go with a mixed media look for my mini-slimline card. I grabbed a watercolored, galaxy background from my stash and then added some gold mousse through the SSS Circle Dots Stencil to add a little texture and shine.

Then I watercolored on of the cats from the set using my Karin markers. I only used two colors ( a gray and a pink) but I was able to mix them to achieve a range of shades.

I heat embossed my sentiment in black  and added some extra detail to the background with a black posca pen. Then I adhered the cat to my card with foam tape, attached the background to a black cardbase, and called it good!

If you aren't familiar with the My Monthly Hero kit, it's a kit that is released by Hero Arts on the first Monday of every month. It always has a fun, themed collection of stamps, dies and other goodies. The cost is just $34.99/month and the value is always much greater! This month's kit is valued at $87!

You have the option to subscribe (subscribing now means your first kit will be the October release), or, to buy your favorite kits as a one-off purchases. Be aware that once these kits sell out they are gone for good. If you see a kit you like make sure to snatch it up quickly! There are also always a ton of fantastic add-on products offered. You can choose to buy your favorites or buy them all at a discounted rate.

We also have an awesome GIVEAWAY and a BLOG HOP with tons of inspiration going on so please make sure to check the info for those at the bottom of my post! And, I have a VIDEO today sharing a really fun foiling technique where no heat is necessary to foil (see below)

Ok, on to my first card! This kit has a gorgeous sunflower stamp with five coordinating stencils for adding perfect layers of color to your project. I used the stencils to ink blend the flowers and then I added a little extra color with a red copic marker.

Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

Next, I used Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo to add some foil accents to my flowers. Here's the video so that you can see exactly how I did all of that...

If you are having trouble watching this video CLICK HERE to view it on YouTube.

After foiling the flowers I cut the image out with the coordinating dies and set them aside. I took a piece of Paradise cardstock cut to 4.25" x 5.5" and partially inkblended it using Blue Hawaii ink. Then, I heat embossed the "so much" from the Message Strips Stamp &  Cut XL onto my card front leaving enough space above to add the "thanks" die cut.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

I added my sunflowers using foam tape and then splattered my card with both gold and white glimmer metallic ink. After the ink dried I added my thanks dies to front of my card with liquid adhesive. These dies were tripled up and I have a trick for perfectly aligning the dies and doing it without messy adhesive in my VIDEO.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

This next card is another card with foiled accents and it was put together in much the same way as the first card. I did use a different color combo on the flower petals and centers (Creamsicle and Fruit Punch) But I didn't end up loving it so I again added red marker and then went in with a fine tip sharpie to add a bunch of scribbles and lines to make it my own.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

I splattered my black background with gold glimmer metallic ink and then popped the sunflowers up in the center of the card using foam tape.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

I added the "thanks" die to my card on an angle and using foam tape. This time instead of just using the detailed word die I also used the shadow background so that my sentiment would pop and be easy to read.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

If you haven't seen the add-ons this month you have got to check them out! I made this card by combining three of them: Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies, Fall Leaves Stencil and a sentiment set called, Autumn Messages. I started off by grabbing a background I made using my DIY Liquid Watercolor sprays (How-to VIDEO HERE).Then I used gold Nuvo Mousse and the stencil to quickly create the background. I splattered it in both gold and white glimmer metallic ink and set it aside to dry.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

Next I used the Autumn Leaves Fancy Dies to cut a whole bunch of leaves from the Fall Glitter Cardstock and some gold, metal sheets. I stamped the sentiment, cut it with my rectangle dies and popped it up using foam tape. I made sure only to apply foam tape in the center of the sentiment so that it was easy slide the leaves under the sentiment to embellish it.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

I added all of my leaves using glue dots which made it easy to secure them without adhesive being visible.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Hero Arts,My Monthly Hero September 2021,#sunflower,cards, cardmaking, stamps, stamping, art, diy, paper, papercraft, Nuvo, create, handmade, foiling, die cutting,

I was also able to lift and curl the edges of some of the leaves to add even more dimension. If you decide to do use the metal sheets for your leaves or die cuts be aware that they can crease or bend in a very different way than paper does (because they are literally made of metal).

Gina K Designs July 2021 Release: Absolutely Autumn!

Happy Monday everybody! It is release day for Gina K Designs and I've got a colorful "thank you" card to share with you today. I've combined the brand new Absolutely Autumn stamp set with a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 stamp set

I started out by making some watercolor washes on watercolor paper. I used a combination of my Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors and Nuvo Shimmer Powders from Tonic Studios. When that was dry I stamped a whole bunch of the images from the Absolutely Autumn set in black ink right on top of my shimmery watercolored cardstock. I cut all of the images out by hand because I don't have the coordinating dies. It took a little while but was totally worth it so I could play around with the images and have some fun with them.

Cardbomb, Maria Willis,Gina K Designs, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, crafting, create, leaves, watercolor, Nuvo,#nuvoshimmerpowder,

Next, I inkblended a white card panel with a little bit of Splash Reactive ink. Then I glued on a circle frame die cut in gold glimmer paper. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies 2 set into the center of the circle. Then, I used the left side of the circle as a guide to place my leaves.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis,Gina K Designs, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, crafting, create, leaves, watercolor, Nuvo,#nuvoshimmerpowder,

After that all I had to do was splatter the background with my Glitter Gloss pen and then add some Nuvo drops in Mustard Gold.

And, just like that, this card was done... I hope you all enjoy the new release from Gina K Designs! Have an amazing week and I'll catch you back here soon!

VIDEO: Tonic Studios Whaley Great Stamp Release!

Hi Everybody! Happy Friday and I hope you've had a good week so far. Today I get to share the new Stamp Club release from Tonic Studios with you! This release is called, Whaley Great, and I had a whaley great time making cards with it. I had so many ideas that I wasn't even able to do everything I wanted because I ran out of time after making ten cards. Anyhow, this Whaley Great bundle is amazing for making cards if you love to color and do detailed scene building. It's also great if you don't love to color and need to whip up a great card really quickly.

Watch my video HERE if you'd like to see how to make a slimline card with zero coloring!

Before I get on to the cards I want you to know that this Stamp Club bundle is only available from Tonic Studios and that quantities are limited. Once it sells out it is gone for good so if you want to make sure you get one then hustle on over to the shop. Here are the links for both markets:

Ok, on to my cards! Before I even started putting cards together I stamped, colored and die cut a whole bunch of images so that I could easily put my cards together. I also stamped some of the whales onto gray cardstock so that I didn't have to color them. I find that this makes the process really enjoyable as I can focus first on coloring and then on creating backgrounds for my image pieces.

For my first card I ink blended a background using distress oxides. Then I used a die to cut a piece for the sandy ocean floor. I used Sand Embossing Powder to heat emboss the whole thing which gave it great texture. I adhered that to my card base using foam tape.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

Next, I heat embossed the sentiment, stamped some background kelp, and built out my scene. The idea of a whale and a clown fish loving each other forever struck as both ridiculous and hilarious so I went with it.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I finished off my card with some Nuvo Dream Drops in Cloud Nine and feel like they are just the perfect, magical touch for an ocean card.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I mentioned before that I've got a video for you today. This video will show you what's included in the bundle as well as some tips for using this set especially if you prefer not to color, or, just need a quick card.

My next card came together really quickly. I ink blended and splattered my background panel and heat embossed the little school of fish in silver.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I die a circle from a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment in white. I attached the black panel to the background using using foam tape so that there was some extra dimension.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

After that it was a piece of cake to put my card together since I already had a bunch of finished images to work with. I just arranged them on the card until I was happy with them and glued them in place.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I made my next card using a background from my stash. I had done some ink smooshing with distress oxides and saved the background to use with just the right card and this was it. I heat embossed my sentiment at the top before adding the scene below.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

This whale was heat embossed in white onto gray so there was no coloring- super easy!
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I arranged a whole bunch of different images to create a gorgeous kelp and coral forest. The final touch was to add some clown fish and a sea horse so the whale had some little buddies.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I had a lot of fun watercoloring this next card! I used the horizon line stamp to heat emboss in white on some watercolor paper. I stamped multiple times at different angles to get a cool water ripple effect.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

Then I used my Nuvo Aquaflow Pens to watercolor the entire background. I made sure to alternate colors and use different shades so that every layer popped.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

Adding the little ship to the top was a fun touch. I'm not sure if the whale is curios or if we're about to have some wet sailors!
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

This next card is a super easy one. I ink blended the background in orange and yellows. Then I splattered it using Hero Arts White Metallic Ink
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I heat embossed my sentiment and cut it into a strip. I added it with foam tape and then positioned the whale above it.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

To finish the card off I added some Dream Drops in Cloud Nine.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I also made some simple cards that can be made quickly especially if you use a whale that is stamped onto colored cardstock instead of coloring one. This next card has an easy watercolor wash background that I did using my Nuvo Aqua Flows.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

After the watercolor had dried I heat embossed some fish and splattered a bunch of Glitter Gloss all over the background.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I finished it up by adding a sentiment and two whales with foam tape.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

This next card came together in minutes. I used the circle fish die to create a stencil. Then, I ink blended through my stencil using two different shades of blue. After that I added some white glacier paste to the top to get some killer shimmer. The cool thing about adding just a touch of glacier paste is that you can still see the color of the fish but there is some mega, eye-catching sparkle to the whole thing.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

All I had to do after that was cut down my panel and add a sentiment. Notice that this sentiment isn't punny or whale themed... it's because I cut the "whale" off of the front to customize it.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

My final card starts out similarly to my last one. I used my homemade stencil to inkblend the background in purple. Then, I removed the stencil and added some blue so that the fish had an ocean to swim in.
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

I added a whale and a sentiment and I was done!
Cardbomb, Maria Willis, Tonic Studios,Tonic Studios Stamp Club,Whales, cards, cardmaking, stamps, ink, paper, papercraft, die cutting, art, color, watercolor, ocean, heat embossing, nuvo

Well, that is all for today you guys! I hope you will love this Whaley Great stamp set as much as I do. If you're interested in heading over to pick up this newest Stamp Club bundle from Tonic Studios here are some quick links to the shop:
