My Monthly Hero Countdown: Warm Wishes!

Hey everybody! It's time for your My Monthly Hero Countdown and this month's kit is so much fun! I've used just two stamps from the kit to make this simple but sweet card.
#heroarts,My Monthly Hero Kit November 2020,#cards,#greetingcards,#stamps,#stamping,#handmade,#art,#color,#diy,#christmas,winter,holiday,

I started out by stamping the house and sentiment at the same time in versa mark ink. Then I heat embossed it all in clear embossing powder.
#heroarts,My Monthly Hero Kit November 2020,#cards,#greetingcards,#stamps,#stamping,#handmade,#art,#color,#diy,#christmas,winter,holiday,

Next, I masked off the sentiment at the bottom as well as the little house. This allowed me to ink blend the background with my reactive inks (Splash, Blue Hawaii and Grape Slush). I sprayed the background with shimmer spray and then splattered it with silver metallic paint to complete the wintery look. The last details were to remove the masking paper and color in the house and glue on some star sequins and clear enamel dots.
#heroarts,My Monthly Hero Kit November 2020,#cards,#greetingcards,#stamps,#stamping,#handmade,#art,#color,#diy,#christmas,winter,holiday,

Ok, you guys, that's it for today. I hope you've enjoyed this little sneak peek of the November My Monthly Hero kit. If you want to win a kit before you can buy it then head over to the Hero Arts Blog and leave a comment so that you can enter to win!

I'll see you all back here on Monday for the full kit reveal!
Bye for now and have an awesome day!

Video: Tonic Studios Party Animals Stamp Club Release and Giveaway!

Hello everybody and welcome to the second Stamp Club launch from Tonic Studios! This launch is called Party Animals (UK) and is perfect for making so many different cards. The Party Animals stamp and die are sold as a bundle exclusively from Tonic Studios USA (Tonic UK) for an incredible price of $34.99! There are a limited number of sets so if you want one please make sure to grab yours before they sell out. To check out the release and all of the details head over to Tonic Studios USA or Tonic Studios UK. Here's a look at one of the cards I'll be sharing today (how to video later in post).

#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

In addition to the Party Animal Bundle there is also a new die set called Banners and Strips (UK) that goes for $14.99. Check out this video I made sharing all of the products included in this launch...

If you're having trouble watching this video you can view it HERE

Now I want to share a couple of really fun shaker cards that I made with you. These are frameless shaker cards and are really easy to make. I got the idea from my friend Ilda Dias and had to try it for myself. I was thrilled at how easy it was to do so I made you a video for this too.

If you're having trouble watching this video you can view it HERE.

I started out by stamping and coloring a bunch of the images from the Party Animals set. I used my copic markers to color them.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

After I was done coloring the images I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. This made the process so easy and gave me perfectly cut images without the effort of having to hand cut them all.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

I ink blended some blue onto a piece of cardstock cut at 4.25" x 5.25" so that there would be some color in the background. I used the large round blending brushes which work like such a dream for super smooth blending.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

Next, I cut down a clear, plastic envelope so that it was one quarter inch larger on every side than my card face. I also put adhesive strips on the back of my card face.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

I put the plastic sheet face down on my table and scooped shaker guts out on top of it. When I had enough shaker guts I put my card face (ink blended side down) on top of the guts. Then, I peeled off the release paper and folded the edges of the plastic sheet onto the back of my card. This trapped all of the shaker guts inside the card and allowed them to move freely.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

Once the shaker portion of my card was put together I adhered my party animals and sentiment to the front of the card using foam adhesive. After that I added a few sequins to the front and glued the whole thing to a card base. These are seriously the easiest shaker cards I have ever made!
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

One of the things that I really love about this new Party Animals release is how versatile it is. It's easy to make simple but fun cards. It's also perfect for building scenes and making really detailed cards. Here is a video I made to show you just how easy it is to make a wide variety of styles of cards with this set.

If you are having trouble watching this video you can view it HERE.

Now that you've watched the video here are some close up pictures of the cards I made...
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

This little turtle is so fun and I love the punny sentiments that go along with him.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

I used my Nuvo alcohol markers and watercolor pencils to color in the turtle and sweet little heart.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

My next card uses the same layout as my first card does. I stepped it up by adding stenciling to the background (the stencils were made with dies from the set). I also added dimension by die cutting the hippo and bouquet and popping them up with foam adhesive.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

Did you notice the cute little flagged ends on my sentiment? I cut that out with one of the dies from the Banners and Strips die set and it was perfect!
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

The ink blending in the background was done with two different kinds of blending brushes. The dreamy looking sky was done using the new large blending brushes (on sale this weekend!). The grass needed a heavier application of ink so I used the blending brushes with handles for that.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

My last card is quite a bit more intricate than the last two. This card incorporates everything from the last two cards (coloring, stenciling, dimension and scene building) to make a card that tells more of a story (party time!).
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,

This card has layers of stenciled clouds and grass which gives it lots of depth. I've also tucked the large elephant behind a layer of grass to make it look like he's set further back in the scene.
#tonicstudios,#tonicstudiosusa,#tonicstudiosstampclub,#cards,#cardmaking,#stamps,#stamping,ink,paper,#art,#diy,#handmade,#handmadecards,#video,#videotutorial,tutorial,#shaker card,
Adding balloons, a bird, gifts and cake plus the little elephant in the front creates a fun party scene.

Moon Men Galaxy Background with Nuvo Shimmer Powder

Hey you guys!! I've had the most amazing time last weekend at Creativation and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things here but of course I've gotten sick. No matter, I'll get through it but I wanted to pop in today to say hi and share a card I made quite some time ago and never shared. I love this Moon Men set from Reverse Confetti and the Tonic Nuvo shimmer powders make an amazing galaxy background to go with it. For this card I've used the shimmer powders in Storm Cloud (black) and Solar Flare (yellow/gold).

#art, #card, #cardbomb, #cardmaking, #color, #copics, #ink, #moonmen, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #outerspace, #paper, #papercraft, #reverseconfetti, #stamping, #tonicstudiosusa, #video, #videotutorial, #watercolor,

I used my shimmer powders to create the background and to paint shimmery details onto the moon. My galaxy background was created on the top part of my watercolor paper where I ripped it out of the spirals rings. I know it's an unconventional look but I like it and it allowed me not to waste even a scrap of my paper.
#art, #card, #cardbomb, #cardmaking, #color, #copics, #ink, #moonmen, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #outerspace, #paper, #papercraft, #reverseconfetti, #stamping, #tonicstudiosusa, #video, #videotutorial, #watercolor,

The Moon Men are colored with my Copic Markers as is the moon (the craters are painted with shimmer powder).
#art, #card, #cardbomb, #cardmaking, #color, #copics, #ink, #moonmen, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #outerspace, #paper, #papercraft, #reverseconfetti, #stamping, #tonicstudiosusa, #video, #videotutorial, #watercolor,

I heat embossed the star and constellation stamps randomly across the background in gold. The sentiment is heat embossed in white and popped up on foam adhesive. I added some gold foil on the right side of the background and then some circle and star embellishments in gold and called it good!
#art, #card, #cardbomb, #cardmaking, #color, #copics, #ink, #moonmen, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #outerspace, #paper, #papercraft, #reverseconfetti, #stamping, #tonicstudiosusa, #video, #videotutorial, #watercolor,

Have you tried out the Nuvo Shimmer Powders yet? If you're curious to learn a little more about them here's a video I made. You can watch me created the background that I used for this card as well as learn quite a few different ways to use these fun powders.

All right folks, that's it for today. I'm off to get some rest and start feeling better. If you're interested in trying out any of the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders that I've used today I'm adding some links for you below. They are affiliate links and that means that when you use them I get a small commission that helps me keep my blog running (so thank you so much for supporting my blog!).

Have an awesome day you all!

Moon Men! Love You to the Moon & Back!

Hi! I hope you all are having an amazing day. I'm just popping in to share another shimmery, sparkly card that I made with Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powder and the adorable Moon Men stamp set from Reverse Confetti.

#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

I started by making the background using the black Nuvo Shimmer Powder (the color is called Storm Cloud). Then I used the yellow/gold powder (Solar Flare) to splatter the background so that it looked like outer space. I also splattered it with clean water and then blotted it with a paper towel so that I had some lighter spots that gave the background a little bit more depth. I cut the background out with a frame from Lawn Fawn so that it would have stitched detail on the edges.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

I colored my moon man with my Copic markers and then heat embossed my sentiment in white onto black cardstock. I added both of those to the card front with foam adhesive so that they would pop off of the card.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

I also colored the moon with Copics and adhered it to the card using foam tape. If you look closely at the moon you can see that the craters sparkle and shine. That's because I blinged them out by watercoloring some Solar Flare shimmer powder onto them. It looks really cool in real life.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

I also added some clear epoxy embellishments to the background. I think they added to the galaxy look without being too over the top.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

If you aren't familiar with how to use the Tonic Nuvo Shimmer Powders and want to see some fun ways to use them-check out this video below.

Over at the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge this week they've got a Bling It On themed challenge and I'm adding this card to the mix. If you want to check out all of the cool inspiration from the Simon Says Stamp design team just click HERE to head over there.

Tonic Studios Nuvo Shimmer Powder Video Tutorial

Hey everybody! Thanks for stopping by today. I am really excited to have you here because for the first time in forever I have a YouTube video for you. I actually filmed it months ago but summer got the best of me and today I finally had a chance to finish editing it. The video showcases Tonic Studios Nuvo Shimmer Powders and multiple ways to use them.

The Nuvo Shimmer Powders are pigment powders that are mixed with mica so they have a ton of shimmer in them. I used the powders to create the galaxy background for this card. See the video at the bottom of this post for a tutorial.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking, #videotutorial, #video,

The stamp set that I used is from Reverse Confetti, is called Moon Men, and I love it!
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

I colored the rocket ship and moon with my Copic markers. Then I used my Solar Flare Shimmer Powder to color the pits on the moon so that they would shimmer.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

I heat embossed the sentiment (also from Moon Men) in white on black cardstock and popped it up on foam tape to give it dimension. I added some clear embellishments to the background (I colored some of them blue with my Copics) and that was it for this card.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

Here is a link to the video tutorial I made with some tips (both do's and don'ts) for using these awesome shimmer powders.

If you're interested in trying these out for yourself I am putting a link to the Tonic Studios Shop below (Click the pic).

Have an amazing day!

#TGIFC163 - Sketch Challenge

Hello everybody and welcome back for another fabulous TGIF Challenge! I'm sad to say that this will be my last week with the TGIF Design Team. If you follow my blog then you know that I've resigned from Stampin' Up! so that I can expand my creativity and use products from all of the amazing stamp and craft companies out there. TGIF is a team that is made of SU Demos. As I am no longer a demo I am stepping down from the design team. I am excited for my new crafty adventures but this design team holds a special place in my heart as all of the members are really wonderful human beings. I will miss creating alongside them.

This week we've got an awesome Sketch Challenge for you! Here's my take on it using a new stamp set from SU's new catalog. The set is called Sea of Textures and has a matching set of dies that is pretty epic! I started out by watercoloring my background and a bunch of extra pieces of paper to cut my shells and coral from. Then I layered a piece of vellum over the background and started arranging my pieces.
#cardbomb, #stampinup, #cards, #watercolor, #seaoftextures, #octopus, #stamps, #ink, #paper, #stamping, #art, #ocean,

Here you can see close up of the gorgeous die cut pieces. The sand dollar is really cool bc you can pop the center out or leave it in.
#cardbomb, #stampinup, #cards, #watercolor, #seaoftextures, #octopus, #stamps, #ink, #paper, #stamping, #art, #ocean,

The sentiment is heat embossed in white embossing powder and I added a blue sea star to the banner to anchor it to the design. If you look closely, you can see that behind the seagrass I added some blue dots for detail with an alcohol marker.
#cardbomb, #stampinup, #cards, #watercolor, #seaoftextures, #octopus, #stamps, #ink, #paper, #stamping, #art, #ocean,

The octopus is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink and heat embossed in clear. He's such a cool looking guy and I like that it looks like he is walking across the sea floor.
#cardbomb, #stampinup, #cards, #watercolor, #seaoftextures, #octopus, #stamps, #ink, #paper, #stamping, #art, #ocean,

That's it for today you guys! If you'd like to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this sketch then head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog! Here's a graphic of the sketch for you to check out. If you've got a great idea on how to interpret it then please play along with us this week!

Bye guys! I'll be back with another fun post in the next day or so.

Have an amazing day!

Moon Men- You're Outta This World!

Hey Everybody! It's been a while since I've posted and I'm sorry for being a bit MIA. A lot has been going on in the last couple of weeks. I've been trying to knock things off of my "to-do" list and I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut-off. The end of "things to do" isn't really in sight but I'm so glad to have the time to say hi to you guys today. I have been crafting but haven't had time to photograph and blog much so I'm sorry I haven't been sharing here.

Anyhow, on to today's card because I'm sure that's why you are here... And, I absolutely LOVE what you can do with the Nuvo Shimmer Powders that I used on this card! It was my first time using them and they are easy to use and you can get such a variety of gorgeous effects with them (video coming soon!). The shimmer powders made the perfect, magical background for the astronaut and planets from Reverse Confetti's Moon Men stamp set. I'll put a link to the Nuvo Shimmer Powders at the bottom of my post in case you'd like to pick them up for yourself.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

Here's a close up of the background. I started with a piece of watercolor paper and used just three colors of shimmer powder to create this background. I started out by tapping out some of the powder onto the dry paper and then I spritzed it until I saw the powder activating. Depending on how much water is on your paper you can tilt it back and forth to mix the colors, or, you can use a paint brush to drag them around to where you want them.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

I colored my Moon Man and the planets with Copic Markers. I wish I could remember what colors I used... but I made this a few weeks ago and didn't make note of what I colored with before cleaning up my desk.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

If you look closely at the purple planet you can see that I also added a little bit of the black shimmer powder to add some shading. It looks cool in real life bc it glitters when you move it. I heat embossed my sentiment in white added it to the card with foam adhesive.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

I used some awesome Crystal Clear Confetti sequins by Studio Katia to finish off the card. These sequins have a gorgeous iridescent look and have no hole in the middle which I love! It makes them so easy to adhere as you don't have to worry about glue seeping out the hole in the center.
#cardbomb, #simonsaysstamps, #reverseconfetti, #tonicstudiosusa, #nuvoshimmerpowder, #moonmen, #watercolor, #art, #outerspace, #copics, #color, #paper, #stamping, #ink, #card, #cardmaking,

Before I go I'm going to enter this card into a couple of fun challenges
-Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Wedding/Anniversary (I would totally give this to my husband for our anniversary)

That's it for today you guys! I'm so glad to be back here. I hope you all have an amazing day today and I will be back soon (really, I promise, lol!)!

Exciting Changes and a Mermaid Card!

Hi Everybody! I'm here with some pretty big news today. If you've followed my blog at all over the last few years then you know that I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator pretty much since I discovered stamping. Stampin' Up! is an amazing company and I'm so happy to have started my stamping journey with them.

Lately, I have been branching out with my creativity and have been enjoying playing around with different inks and different brands of products. I have become really excited about some of these products and want to use, share and promote them. For this reason I have made the decision to resign from Stampin' Up! I will still be sharing my projects here on the blog, as well as on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. The difference is that going forward I will be using products from a wide variety of companies and brands. I believe that this will allow me to take my creativity to the next level and I am so jazzed to get started on this new journey.

You will see me start using different inks and different media over the next couple of months and I hope you will like what you see. If you're curious about what products I am using, and where I am getting them, please head on over to my "Shop" page to see the companies that I am now affiliated with. I will do my best to share product links at the bottom of my posts as well.

I'll kick this news off by a sharing a card I made featuring some Hero Arts products. Hero Arts is an amazing company based in Northern California and it's located only a couple of hours away from me. I was able to visit their factory in March and it was pretty amazing! For this card I've used the Mermaid Kisses (CM160) stamp set and matching Frame Cuts (D1456).
#cardbomb, #mariawillis, #heroarts, #mermaidkisses, #cards, #stamps, #stamping, #ink, #paper, #stencils, #dies, #ocean, #sealife, #handmade, #diy, #creative,

I used my Copic Markers to color in the mermaid and the fish. These markers are alcohol based and are amazing for getting a seamless blend in your coloring. I added a pearl to the mermaid's hand because it looked like she should be holding something.
#cardbomb, #mariawillis, #heroarts, #mermaidkisses, #cards, #stamps, #stamping, #ink, #paper, #stencils, #dies, #ocean, #sealife, #handmade, #diy, #creative,

Have you noticed all of those fantastic little sea creatures delicately cut out to frame the background? That amazing die is called the D1385 Reef Border and Frame Fancy Dies (E). It really has incredible detail and was so easy to cut out (no paper tearing and it easily releases from the die).
#cardbomb, #mariawillis, #heroarts, #mermaidkisses, #cards, #stamps, #stamping, #ink, #paper, #stencils, #dies, #ocean, #sealife, #handmade, #diy, #creative,

My background piece was made using the Hero Arts SA110 Mermaid Sea Waves Stencil on Shimmery White Cardstock. This stencil has such fun detail and I sponged over it using my Pool Party ink (Stampin' Up!) and sponge daubers and then spritzed over the whole thing with a light mist of Island Indigo ink. I popped each layer up on foam adhesive to give it some dimension and then splattered the whole thing with clear Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle.
#cardbomb, #mariawillis, #heroarts, #mermaidkisses, #cards, #stamps, #stamping, #ink, #paper, #stencils, #dies, #ocean, #sealife, #handmade, #diy, #creative,

That's it for today you guys. I hope all of you Moms out there have an amazing Mother's Day!
See you back here soon!

Have an amazing day!
