HA simple bee cards

Hi everybody! I hope you're having a great day!  I'm just dropping by to share these sweet and simple cards that I made earlier in the month and forgot to share. I used a combination of the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit and some of the add-ons from this month's release.

For my first card I ink blended a card panel using Splash Reactive ink. I wanted to add a little extra texture to the background so I sprayed it with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist then splattered it with some watered down Splash ink.

I stamped the "hey honey" sentiment from the Bee and Wreath Flowers set in black. Then I added foam adhesive to the back of the ink blended panel and adhered it to a white card base.

To finish my card off I added a chunky, adorable bee from the My Monthly Hero kit. This bee was stamped in black ink, watercolored with Daniel Smith watercolors and even has some iridescent paint on his wings.

My second card is also simple and sweet and features another buzzy little bee from the MMH kit. This time I started out by splattering my background with both both black ink and gold splatter. Then I stamped my sentiment which is again from the Bee and Flowers Wreath Stamp set.

Next, I covered the back of a piece of gold foil cardstock with double sided adhesive tape. I used a beautiful flower die from the Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies and cut a flower from the gold cardstock. This gave me flower shaped sticker. Before adding my flower sticker to the card I used the dashed line die to die cut my card front to make it look like my bee was flying. I did this before adding the flower and bee so that I put them over the ends of the dashed line.

I added my golden flower sticker to the bottom right of my card. Then I added my lazy little bee at the end of his flight line with foam tape to give him some dimension.

Have an awesome day!

Hello Sunshine and Rainbow Hexagons!

Hi everybody! I hope you are having a great week so far. I am popping in to share this colorful card using the Hero Arts Abstract Honeycomb Bold Prints stamp and some other bumble bee related products today. This background stamp is my favorite new background stamp from the January release. I love the quirky combination of hexagons and hearts. I decided to ink it up in a rainbow of color because, let's face it, color makes me happy.

I put the stamp inside of my Misti and stamped repeatedly using different ink colors. Between colors I cleaned off my stamp. After inking the stamp up (but before stamping) I used a clean towel to dab gently at the edge of the ink on the stamp. This removed a small amount of ink and ensured that I had smooth transitions between my colors. After stamping, I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the hexagons and hearts. Then, I used clear Nuvo drops to fill in all of the solid hexagons. This gave the hexagons dimension and a glossy, smooth finish.

I heat embossed my sentiment from the Bee and Flowers Wreath stamp set in white embossing powder onto black cardstock. I cut my sentiment out using one of the hexagons from the Hexagon Infinity Dies set. These infinity dies are new and are so awesome! I'm sure you will be seeing me use these a lot in the future.

My chubby bee is from the January 2021 My Monthly Hero kit. This kit is sold out so if you don't have this bee stamp you can substitute the bee from the Bee and Flowers Wreath stamp set instead. I added my background to a black card base. Then, I used foam adhesive to pop my sentiment and bee up on the front of my card. Some yellow and black enamel dots were the perfect touch for finishing off this card. FYI: Just in case you didn't know, these enamel dots are stickers so no glue is required. This makes them super easy to use without making a glue mess.

Oh! I almost forgot one detail. I used a cool gray copic marker to color in some of the outlined hexagons just to add a little something more to my background. I added a lot of "extra" to this background but it's honestly not necessary. It's such a beautiful stamp that it makes for a gorgeous background without doing anything extra to it.

Ok, you guys! That is it for today. I hope you liked today's card. If you have any questions please let me know in the comments below.

Have an awesome day!
Maria

Hi everybody! It's time for the monthly countdown to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit and this month's kit is one of my all time favorite kits! Here's one of the cards I've made with this month's kit and I decided to go for a distressed, grungy look for this one. I have made other cards with this kit that are bright and happy, or, sweet and simple for totally different looks. I'll show you those cards tomorrow. The My Monthly Hero kits release on the first Monday of every month and you can either subscribe to them to make sure you never miss a kit, or, try to snatch one up before they sell out! Just a head's up that if you subscribe now, the first kit you receive will be the February 2021 kit.

For now, I will point out these chunky, bubble butt bees which I am absolutely in love with. They are a great size for a card and are also a great size for easy coloring.

The sentiments in this set are really fun and there are some great plays on the word, "bee." For this card I selected the "Sweet as Can Bee," sentiment and heat embossed it in gold.
