Hello everybody! I am popping in with a quick post to show off a gorgeous new set from today's Gina K. Designs release. The set I'm using is called Birds of a Feather and it's got some beautiful florals and two gorgeous hummingbirds in the set. For today's card I decided to focus on on of the floral stamps and make it the star of the show.
To start my card I stamped the floral image multiple times onto a piece of white cardstock in alcohol friendly ink. Then, I used my copic markers to color the flowers and the background. I had fun adding drop shadows in cool grays and adding extra details with a fine tipped sharpie and a white Posca paint pen.
When I was done coloring I stamped a sentiment from the Spread Your Wings stamp set in black ink onto the bottom of the card front. I have a friend who could use a card right now and this sentiment is just perfect for her.
To finish my card off I added my floral piece to a black mat and glued that all to a top-folding card base.
This Birds of a Feather stamp set is so beautiful and I love that it is so versatile because it includes so many pretty stamps. You can head on over to Gina K. Designs if you'd like to check out the whole release.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome day!
Hello everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are excited to get going with a new week. One of my favorite things is when two companies get together and decide to do a collaboration release of super fun products. That's what's going on today and we have an awesome collaboration release from Gina K. Designs and Brutus Monroe to share with you.
For my card I've used the gorgeous new floral design called, Seeds of Joy Stamp Set. Now, I chose to use the main floral image but it's also got a really fun seed packet image that I can't wait to use as well. I heat embossed the flowers using the new Wisteria Land Embossing Powder (hello, gorgeous purple!). Then I masked the image off using Masking Magic Sheets. I inkblended over the top of the masking paper in tones of yellow using a darker tone closer to the flowers. Then, I peeled off the masking paper revealing a crisp, clean floral image.
Next, I pulled out my copic markers I added some drop shadows in yellows and oranges before adding a little shading to the flowers (Purples and pinks). After I was done with my markers I stamped the sentiment in Onyx Black ink. I added a black mat behind my image piece and I think the black really helps the colors pop.
Ok, that's it for today you guys! Have an amazing day. Normally I say I'll see you back here soon but I probably won't be back on the blog this week as I'll be at Creativation in Florida! Take care!

You can buy the add-ons as a bundle at a discounted rate or just pick up your favorite products.
For my first project I made a tag and had so much fun doing it. I stamped the background stamp onto white cardstock in Soft Granite ink. Then I used the stencils to color in the flowers using Lemon Drop and Taffy Reactive inks. I used copic markers to color in the bumble bees. Since it's a 6"x6" background I was able to use it to create two projects (see the slimline card I made below). I cut a piece of the floral design out on a diagonal and added it to a gray tag. I used the coordinating dies and cut out both a bee and some flowers.
Before gluing the pieces together I splattered the tag with black ink. I glued the the flowers down and added a black ring to the hole. I heat embossed my sentiment in white onto black and splattered it with gold. I added the sentiment with foam tape and then added the sweet little bee to finish it off. I added some twine to the top and love the rustic look of it.
Next, I made a card using the Mother's Day Vase stamp set. I wanted to go for a simple, one-layer card and this gorgeous floral stamp made it easy to do. I stamped it in Onyx Pigment ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder. I repeated the same process with the sentiment.
I used my copics to color the image in rainbow colors. To finish it off I added some highlights with a white gel pen.
Here's that mini-slim card I mentioned at the beginning of the post. It's so awesome that you can make two projects from just one stamped image. I matted the floral piece on gray cardstock and added a sentiment with some silver thread for a little extra texture.
Ok, you guys, that is it for today. I hope you'll keep hopping along with us and make sure to comment below to get yourselves entered in the giveaway!
Have an awesome day!

Hey everybody and super happy day to ya! It's time for another fabulous release from Gina K Designs and I've got a cheerful card to share with you using one of her new stamp sets.
I used the Choose Grace stamp set and some brightly colored inks to create this card. I started out by stamping the bamboo stalks in green on white cardstock. Then, I inkblended the background lightly with blues. I added a black mat to that background piece and adhered it with foam tape to a white cardbase.
Next, I stamped out two of the flower outlines multiple times in black ink. Then, I added color by stamping them using the solid floral images. I also stamped some leaves and sprigs in green. I used my MISTI to make this an easy process. Next, I used the coordinating dies to cut out all of my pieces and I arranged them around a sentiment from the Spring Florals Background stamp set. Once I had everything arranged in a way I liked I adhered everything together with a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive.
And that is all there was to that! You can find the gorgeous stamp set I've used today (Choose Grace) as well as the entire fabulous new release over at Gina K Designs!
Hello, everybody and welcome to another fabulous Gina K. Designs release day! Today I had the pleasure to work with the new Magnificent Marigolds set. This set has a huge, stunning floral but I decided to use one of the smaller, individual flowers and make a simple mini slimline card.
I stamped the image and sentiment onto Arches Cold Pressed Watercolor paper using Versafine ink and my Misti. I stamped multiple times so that I got a good impression. Next, I watercolored using my Daniel Smith watercolors.... Alas, I am sorely out of practice and my watercoloring didn't have the color contrasts that I was hoping for.
Enter colored pencils and a fine tipped Sharpie marker to save the day. I used a couple of pencils to add a little extra shading and then followed that up with a ton of Sharpie scribbles all over the card. It wasn't quite enough so I grabbed my Distress crayons and smeared some of those onto the background as well.
To finish the card off I added a black mat to frame out the stamped piece. Then I added some gems and rhinestones in different colors to add a little eye-catching glitz and texture.
Alright you guys, that is it for today. I had a lot of fun making this card and am looking forward to playing with the largest floral stamp as well.
Have an awesome day!

Hello everybody! Exciting news- it's Gina K. Designs release day! I've made a one-layer card using the new Poppy Garden stamp set (it has coordinating dies!) by Hannah Drapinski. This set is stunning and made me want to sit down and watercolor it straight away. I've made a VIDEO to share some easy watercoloring techniques so be sure to scroll on down and check out that video on my YouTube Channel.
I started out by heat embossing the largest image from the set onto Strathmore watercolor cardstock. To do this I used Onyx Pigment ink from Hero Arts and clear embossing powder.
You can check out the entire watercoloring process here...
My video shares my process for layering ink colors and easy application of color using Karin Brush Markers and a paint brush. I used four colors of ink for the poppies and three colors of ink for the leaves. I started by applying my lightest color of ink (yellow for poppies, lime green for leaves) as a light layer of color over my entire image. I used very little water and allowed my paint to almost entirely dry before adding the next layer of color. I added the darker colors into the areas where I wanted to have shadows and kept the other areas light as highlights.
After I finished watercoloring I stamped a sentiment in Gina K. Design Black Onyx ink and added a few white highlights with a gel pen.
It was a huge struggle not to splatter the heck out of this card but I managed to leave it as a clean and simple card. I hope you've enjoyed learning a little bit about my process today. For all of the details you can head over to YouTube and watch my VIDEO. You can also head on over to Gina K. Designs to check out the full release!
Have an awesome day!

Hi everybody! It's the last Friday of the month and you know what that means? Yes, release day for the Tonic Studios Stamp Club! This month's release is called Sunshine & Sunflowers and it is gorgeous! The stamp set includes some really lovely sentiments, some beautiful sunflower images and some really fun lady bugs and bees. Some of the dies coordinate with the stamp set but many of them are designed to cut layers of paper so that you can build paper sunflowers. I've got a VIDEO below showing off the whole release especially those layering dies so I hope you'll check that out.
GIVEAWAY: There is an awesome giveaway and one lucky winner will win a $50 gift certificate to Tonic Studios AND the Sunshine & Sunflowers Bundle. All the details for the giveaway are at the bottom of my post. This post is also part of a blog hop so be sure to hop along with us to catch all of the inspiration using this set.
If you want to check this bundle out in the Tonic Studios shop then here you go:
I used almost all of the layering dies on this card including the dies that coordinate with the stamps.
This card has a ton of dimension and was really easy to put together!
On my next card I used the large sunflower corner piece. I stamped it once in black ink and then colored the flowers in with my copic markers.
After using my copics I added more detail with a black sharpie and some colored pencils.
I cut the image out using the coordinating die and popped it up on foam tape for dimension.
The final touches were to add a cute little lady bug, a bee and some nuvo drops.
This next card has a totally different look from my other cards. I heat embossed the sunflowers in gold onto red cardstock. Then I colored them in with colored pencils.
I used a black copic marker to color in all of the background space.
I used the "Happy Birthday" die from a previous release (Happy Hibiscus) to add my sentiment in gold glitter cardstock.
This next card is a mini slimline card that I used the sunflower layering dies on. This time I did not use the dies that coordinate with the stamps and the result is a more delicate flower.
I love the sentiments on this card as they perfect for letting a friend know that you care.
On my next card I heat embossed my image in white embossing powder and then watercolored with my Nuvo Aquaflow pens.
These pens are so easy to watercolor with. My preference is to use them to add color to my work surface. Then, I add a little bit of water and use a paint brush to watercolor with them.
I love that lazy little bee. He looks like he's for a flower to nap on.
This next card shares another way to use heat embossing. This time I paired it with some inkblending for a very easy, bright and happy card.
After heat embossing I ink blended my card with Distress Oxide inks. Then I sprayed the background with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist from Hero Arts and splattered it with White Glimmer Metallic ink, also from Hero Arts.
I know I keep saying it, but I really love the sentiments in this set! I would love to receive a card that says I brighten someone's day.
My next card is another mini slimline card. I went super basic on this card because these stamps are so beautiful that all you need to do is stamp them in black and you've got a gorgeous card.
I heat embossed the images and sentiment in black onto yellow cardstock.
Then, I added a black mat and put all of that on a white mini slimline cardbase.
I've already shared two mini slimline cards so it only made sense to share an easy slimline card as well.
To make this card I used Versamark Ink to stamp the Sunflowers repeatedly onto the background. This gave me a crisp but subtle, tone-on-tone look.
I stamped a sentiment strip from the Sunshine & Sunflowers bundle and then added the HUGS sentiment from the Backgrounds & Borders bundle.
This next card is a little 3"x3" card that goes with the first slimline card I shared above.
I cut my flowers out of white cardstock and then ink blended them with Distress Oxide inks.
The textured piece in the center of the flower is so fun. There are three different sizes of textured centers and if you prefer a smooth center there are three of those too!
Now, before I go here's a look at the whole Sunshine & Sunflowers Bundle. The stamp and die sets are both 6"x8" which is a nice, large size. The bundle is just $34.99 so you get a lot of bang for your buck!
Ok, that's all for today. I hope you all enjoyed my video and cards today. Have an awesome day!
Maria.
