Zoo Babies Giraffe

Here's a quick card I made last week. I have been so busy with work and getting my taxes done (yeah, right. Like they'll ever be done. 😢) that I haven't had time to get into my craft room. I did have time for on project. I was challenged to make a card using these exact dimensions and embellishing how I pleased. A2 card base, 4" x 5.25" mat, 1.5" x 5.25" strip of DSP and a 2.5" X 3" image piece. Oh I wanted to add an extra mat behind that image piece so badly! Not allowed for this challenge though so I stuck to the rules. Hope you like it!

Now I'm back to work! Gotta get this done so some day soon I can stamp again!

Have a great week everybody!

WWYS #56: Circle of Spring

This week over at What Will You Stamp? we have been challenged to use pretty stamp set called Circle of Spring. I had fun coloring my card and adding some corrugated paper and Wink of Stella for texture and shine.

I used Brights Stampin' Write Markers as well as Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi from the Subtles collection to color my wreath. The shiny white ribbon, silver metallic thread, Wink of Stella and pearls helped fancy up the card just a little bit.

In the picture above you can see the spatters of Wink of Stella on my background layers... I keep watching all of these videos on how you just tap the Wink Of Stella over your finger and Whalah!-pretty splatters... Yeah, right. Just FYI, you have to whack the WoS over your finger REALLY HARD!  and, yes, it's  not very comfortable. It is worth it for the pretty splatters though. Have you tried this technique yet? Did you think you had to get pretty rough with your Wink of Stella too, or, did it just happen like magic for you? Lemme know!

Here's the whole stamp set: Circle of Spring. It really has a soft and pretty look to it. Lots of good spring sentiments as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you liked my card. Please let me know what you thought in the comments below. If you have this set we would love to have you join us by submitting your own project to the What Will You Stamp? challenge blog. Can't wait to see what you will make!

Happy Monday! Have a great week everybody!

Look Who'sTurning 2! for CYCI#111 AGAIN!

Woohoo! I'm back to play in CYCI#111 for the second time this week! Hey, it's the second time in as many days! This week the challenge over at Can You Case It is a Color Challenge... any three colors plus neutrals. This time I've gone with primary colors: red, yellow and blue. This card was made for a fantastic little two year old! I was so excited when they sent me a picture of his cake and they had decorated his cake to match the card! Very cool!

I'm starting you out with a close up because I just love this adorable little dog in the balloon! He's having way too much fun! I got the idea to put the dog from A Beautiful Ride into the balloon from Celeberate Today from Brian King. Thanks for the great idea Brian!

Here's my whole card. It's pretty simple but it's fun!

And a full frontal (yes, I winced as I wrote that too) just in case you needed another pic.

That's it for today folks! I'm going to spend the rest of my day doing taxes... not fun but they've got to get done. I hope you all have something way more fun planned than I do!

See you all soon!

No Bones About It... for CYCI#111

Oh boy, oh boy!! I'm so excited that I am finally getting to play along with this week's Can You Case It Color Challenge-CYCI#111! 11 and 111 are lucky numbers for me so maybe that's why I was able to join in this week!

This week's color challgene is to use any three colors and neutrals. I decided to use quite a few neutrals and count them as my colors. I'm counting Black and White as my neutrals, and, Tip Top Taupe, Basic Gray and Sahara Sand as my three colors. I hope you like my card!

I love this stamp set (No Bones About It) and I use it often to make adults feel really old on their birthdays... This card was for a friend of mine who signed up on my #imbringingbirthdaysback list. He thought it was funny thank goodness! I used my alphabet rotary stamp to customize the sentiment (love that thing!) and I did a little sponging around the edges of the jagged gray circle to give it a bit of an aged, antique look.

Now I've got to jam! I'm off to work but so glad that I was able to join the talented crew over at CYCI#111 for this fun challenge.

...Oh, guess what?! I'll be playing again with them tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled for more fun (and, yes, I'm using actual colors tomorrow)!

Have an amazing day! I'll see you back here tomorrow!

WWYS #55: Balloon Celebration

Welcome to What Will You Stamp week number 55! This week we've got a Balloon Celebration challenge for you and I sure hope you'll play along!

Here's a close up of the balloon. I've given it a bath in Wink of Stella and added a tiny star covered in Dazzling Diamonds to give it a little detail. The background stars are stamped in white craft ink and gone over in Wink of Stella as well.

Here's the whole fantastic stamp set that is Balloon Celebration. There is so much you can do with this set that it's pretty amazing. I used the balloon and the stars for this go around but I think my favorite stamps in this set are the little dandelion fluffs. They are really fun to play around with!

Have a great day and I hope you will play along with us this week over at What Will You Stamp!

Argh, matey.

Argh. Sometimes you find yourself on a deadline... Or maybe WAAAAY past a deadline to turn in a card and nothing you try is coming together the way you hoped it would. All you can say is, "Argh!" And keep on going! Winder if I can turn my rubbish into something good. Fingers crossed.

See you soon Mateys. Hopefully w a new project!

Have a good one!

WWYS #54: Over the Rainbow

Hi! It's Monday and that means it's time to reveal another What Will You Stamp challenge! Drum roll, please! This week's challenge is Over the Rainbow! Here's my card... let me tell you that it ended up being WAY different from my original idea.

I couldn't help but combine the Starburst framelit with this happy sentiment and the cloud DSP. They just go together like peanut butter and jelly. I added some red foil behind the yellow sunburst and put some metallic gold thread and sequins on the sunburst to make it glitter.

I used my bone folder to curl my sun rays... how in the world I will mail this card I have no idea! I suppose I'll have to figure something out!

I only ended up using one sentiment from Over the Rainbow for my card today but take a look at how many awesome sentiments come with this set. It also comes with a few stamps that are great for abstract stamping.

If you have this stamp set I sure hope you will join us this week over at What Will You Stamp! If not, be sure to stop by to check out what the rest of the design team has made for you this week.

Something fun and different is that I'm actually playing along in another challenge this week! The theme this week over at Paper Players (PP285) is Rain or Shine and I think my card fits the bill. Hope they'll like it!

Have a sunshiny day and thank you for stopping by!
-Maria

Party Wishes!

Here's a quick and easy birthday card that was a lot of fun to make! I used the Birthday Boquet Punch to punch my balloons out of Red Foil. I tied the silver metallic thread onto the balloons for some super fun balloon strings!

The rest was a snap using strips of the It's My Party DSP and half of a silver doily.

Want step-by-step directions (including measurements) on how to make this card? Leave me a comment and let me know. Thanks!
