Hey folks! Happy Wednesday! I'm popping by really quickly to share this card that I made last week and didn't have time to post. I used the Mondo Sakura stamp set from Ellen Hutson. I just recently got this set but I've wanted it for so long.
These huge flowers are so fun to color. In my last blog post I watercolored them with bright colors so I thought I'd try something totally different and color them with Copic Markers in gray scale. If I remember correctly I used C0 to C7. I did not use every marker in that range but probably four or five of them. Then I used a black sharpie to add some scribbles and extra detail... and topped it off by adding some highlights with a white gel pen.
I wanted the background to bright and vibrant in contrast to the flowers so I blended Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide inks. They blend so smoothly (I used Strathmore watercolor paper) and are a dream to work with. I splashed some clean water onto the background to oxidize it and picked up the extra water with a paper towel.
I heat embossed the sentiment in silver, added some sequins and called it a day.
That's all for today but I know this post was brief, so, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask! You can leave me a comment below or shoot me an email at mariawillis@hotmail.com
Have an awesome day!
Maria
