WWYS #76: Party with Cake

Hey everybody and welcome to this week's What Will You Stamp Challenge! This week we have been challenged to use a super fun set called Party With Cake! You may not know this about me but I absolutely love fonts that look they are from an old school typewriter-yep, really! So, it makes sense that I would love all of the fantastic sentiments in this set because the font is awesome! I decided to use the "Make a Wish" sentiment to make a fun background centerpiece for my card. After watercoloring the background I heat embossed my sentiment multiple times in white. Then I cut it out using a 2" Circle Punch. I used the Layering Circle Framelits to cut out a piece of one of the sheets of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate sheets to tuck behind my sentiment circle. If you haven't gotten your hands on this acetate yet I've gotta tell you it's pretty amazing! Every sheet has beautiful designs and one side has gold designs and the other side has silver. I've placed mine with the silver side up on this card.

After layering the two circles I added a silver foil banner and some silver metallic thread to the mix. Then I stamped the "Celebrate" onto a piece of Bermuda Bay and stacked that right on top of it all using dimensionals. I wanted to add just a little more to the background so I splattered my Basic Black card base with Clear Wink of Stella and added just a few Silver Metallic Enamel Shapes to add some more sparkle and texture. I love how this came out and I sure hope it makes someone happy on their birthday!

Here's a look at the whole Party With Cake stamp set. I only used one and a third stamps on my card today but the rest of the stamps are all really great too!

If you'd like to see more inspiration using this set please head on over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with today. If you have this set and want to play along with us-Please do! We can't wait to see what you will make and be inspired by your creations too. Remember that each week we pick a winner who will have the opportunity to be a guest designer on a future challenge... It could be you!

Well, that's it for today folks. Thanks for making my day by stopping by! See you again soon!

WWYS #75: Foxy Friends

Hey and happy Monday!! Welcome back to another fun week over at the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog! At the time I am writing this I am running way behind schedule as I get ready to catch a plane! By the time you are reading this I will be well on my way to Belize! Lucky me! So, since I'm running behind, my post today will short and sweet but full of pics. For this week's Foxy Friends challenge I made a fun set of cards for my Aunt in Belize. She's a veterinarian and this set is just perfect to make so many fun animal cards for her. Here's the set I made...

This koala is so adorable it just kills me!

This pesky raccoon sure looks like he's up to something!

I love this sentiment paired with this cute little skunk.

Hey there sweet little kitty!

Last but not least, here's one of the fantastic foxes from the Foxy Friends stamp set!

Here's another look at the whole set. Of course I stamped the insides of every card and the envelopes too... sorry I don't have pictures for you of all that goodness.

Here's a look at the whole Foxy Friends stamp set and don't forget that it pairs with the incredible Fox Builder Punch (which is how I so easily made this set of adorable little animals).

For more Foxy Friends inspiration head on over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the design has to share with you today! And now I'm signing off! Gotta go catch that plane!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog today! I'll be back soon with more projects to share!
Have an amazing day!

OSAT Blog Hop: May Flowers

Hey, hey! It's One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop time and that means we have a lot of fantastic creations in store for you today! This month we have 15 talented artists who have each designed both a card and project for this month's May Flowers themed hop. You may be starting the hop here at my blog or you may have come from Melissa Davies blog (isn't she fantastic?!). Either way I hope you'll continue the whole hop and see everyone's creations. Just click the next button at the bottom of my post!

For my CARD I used the Helping Me Grow stamp set along with the Timeless Textures set. Helping Me Grow is my favorite flower set right now and I find it so easy to use as every single flower in this set is lovely. First I made the card with the So Saffron flower. Then I thought how pretty this card would be in different colors and gifted as a set so I made the same card in Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, and, Wisteria Wonder.

Here it is in So Saffron...

...and Soft Sky...

...and Pink Pirouette...

...and Wisteria Wonder.

For my PROJECT I decided to make a gift box to put my cards in. I used the same design for the front of the boxes (I made two sets to give away) but added some twine and a tag I made using the Lots of Labels Framelits.

Here's a close up of the tag I made. I love how it came out! I grunged it up a bit with two different stamps from the Timeless Textures set. The sentiment is pieced together from two stamps from Helping Me Grow. I really love the fonts in this stamp set.

Here's one last shot of my gift box with the cards in the background. I did stamp flowers on all of my envelopes too. They look rustic and lovely.

I hope you liked my cards and project for today because I sure had fun making them! For more fantastic May Flower projects please keep on hopping with us. Next up is the talented Anna Smith!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it was so nice to have you!

WWYS #59: Made With Love

Happy, happy Monday! It's time for another round of What Will You Stamp and this week we are playing with Made With Love! This set is so adorable and pairs with the Baby's First Framelit Dies to make your life super simple. The other day I was in a hurry and needed a card for my friend's baby shower FAST! We don't know the gender of her baby but my friend is a real super star so it was a no-brainer to use this sheet from the It's My Party DSP. I used the framelits to cut out the adorable onesie and stamped, "Made With Love" on to it. I sponged the edges of the onesie just a bit to give it a little more visual appeal and that was just about it...

I added a contrasting piece of DSP on top of the stars and stuck a twist of silver cording behind the onesie. Here's a close up of the adorable little thing! I really dig this sentiment "Made With Love" too and I think I'll soon be stamping it on the outside of a gift card pack I'll be making for my Granny.

Here's the whole stamp set. I just love the cute little animals in this one! Easter is coming up and I think I'm going to have to do something fun with the bunny (oh, hi! lopsided ears!) and the cute, little chickie.

What's your favorite stamp in this set? Can you name just one? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for stopping my blog today. If you have this stamp set I hope you'll play along with us this week over at What Will You Stamp-I would love to see what you come up with for this stamp set!
Have a great day and I'll see you all soon!

WWYS #53: Watercolor Words

Hi! It's Monday all over again and that means another round of What Will You Stamp?! This week we are featuring Watercolor Words! I will admit that when I first saw this set I wasn't in love... but, once I got to play around with it a little bit I had a huge change of heart!

I did something a little bit different this week. I decided to create one "sketch" and stick with that same sketch to make a couple of different cards. I've recently decided to join the #imbringingbackbirthdays movement and so I've been finding that I need to make even more cards than normal... but I still want them to fun! Here's what I came up with...

My first card was made using Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette cardstock. My inks are Black Archival and Smoky Slate. I used an aqua painter to give the heart just a bit of Pink Pirouette to match the embossed background. A few beautiful pearls topped this one off to give it an elegant look!

Here's a close up that makes it easier to see the watercolor writing of this stamp set. You can also see that I've watercolored the heart... What you can't see is that it's also nicely doused in Wink of Stella so that it shimmers.

My second card uses bolder choices as I went for Basic Black and Melon Mambo. I used exactly the same process as with the first card except for that I used a different embellishment. The candy dots went well with this card and I love the bright happy look!

I forgot to mention earlier that I popped my white Happy Birthday layer up on dimensionals.

For my third and final trick... ok, just kidding, my third and final card uses Basic Gray and Pool Party. This is a combo that I absolutely love. You'd never know it from this post but I'm really not very into the color pink-surprise! The "just for you" and star are stamped in Smoky Slate and my embellishment this time around is from the pack of White Perfect Accents.

I'm really loving this watercolor look and it's so easy to get with this stamp set!

Take a gander at the whole Watercolor Words stamp set...It really is fantastic!

If you have this stamp set I sure hope that you will join us over at What Will You Stamp this week!

Thanks for stopping by blog!

OSAT Blog Hop: No Rules New Year!

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop! It's our first hop of the new year and we have a new and incredibly talented crew... and No Rules for this blog hop! With no rules or guidelines to abide by I cannot wait to see what kind of crafty trouble everyone has gotten into! You may already be hopping along with us, if so, you have arrived here from the ever so talented Anna Smith! Normally we all bring one card and one project to the table. I decided that No Rules New Year meant that I could bring you two cards and a project. That was mostly because I couldn't decide which card to share so you get both.

My first card is a sympathy card. Sadly, these have been in high demand lately. I used the new Flowering Fields stamp set that you can get FREE from our new Sale-A-Bration catalog with any order of $50 (US)! I also used a sentiment from the new Rose Wonder stamp set. It's such a great set and has sentiments for many occasions. Inside the card says, "You're in my thoughts and prayers." Oh! And those lovely little dandelion puffs? Those are from Balloon Celebration which you can find in the new Occasions catalog. I stamped the flowers in Whisper White Craft ink and then colored them in with my Stampin' Write markers. After I was done coloring I used a white gel pen to highlight some of the areas that I wanted to pop. I made this as a sympathy card but I really think it could be used for a birthday or a "just because" card as well. What do you think?

My second card was made for a much happier occasion! This past weekend I went to a friend's baby shower. My friend is also an SU demo (and my Stampin' Grandma) so of course I had to make her a handmade card. Funny enough this card came together in about five minutes. I have a ton of pretty scraps and shapes already cut out that I have saved from other projects. I grabbed a handful of my loveliest scraps and paired them with this new, and AMAZING, DSP called Shine On. I absolutely love this DSP! It is kraft paper with metallic designs on one side and bold, beautiful prints on the other side. I love how well the blues and gold pair with the DSP and how that yellow rubber ducky looks like he might just swim off the card!

For my project I made a hot chocolate box! Ever since I saw the Cups and Kettles Framelits Dies and the Balloon Celebration set at On Stage in November I have been wanting to make something like this! I finally got my chance and I am so excited to give this to... I don't know-somebody! I'm going to make more with tea and soup packets so I have little treats for all occasions. This was so fun, and so easy, to make! I used the Shine On DSP again for this project. This time I used the bold side featuring Kraft and Bermuda Bay.

I used a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock and a circle of Crumb Cake to make a topper for the hot chocolate packet. I punched a hole and used the new Pool Party Glitter Ribbon and some Silver Thread to make a pretty bow.

Do you recognize that heart background? How about the cute black frame? Probably not! They are brand new Project Life from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (meaning that they are FREE with a $50 USD purchase!). You get thirty cards in this pack called Memories in the Making and they are seriously awesome! Here I have layered two cards. The bottom one is in Watermelon Wonder and has tiny embossed hearts on it. The top card is clear acetate with a beautiful frame printed on it (Let me tell you that this pretty little acetate card made photographing this project a nightmare-sorry if my pics aren't up to snuff!). This set was actually made with card making in mind but would be lovely to use in an album as well. I wanted to give you a close up shot of this hot chocolate mug because I used some clear Wink of Stella to make it sparkle and shine. I have to say that the sparkles match the Pool Party ribbon very well! I've also added a few of the new It's My Party Enamel Dots in Mint Macaron.

I stamped my "Hot Chocolate" sentiment from the Balloon Celebration set and clipped it on using a silver metallic mini clothespin.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you liked my cards and my project. Did you have a favorite out of the three? Please let me know what you think and leave me a comment below. I always appreciate the feedback!

I sure hope you will keep on hopping with us and check out all of the amazing cards and projects that the rest of the OSAT hoppers have made to share with you today. WWYS #46: Endless Thanks

Hey everybody! It's Monday again and that means another wild week of What Will You Stamp! If you're new to my blog, then let me tell you what WWYS is... It's an awesome challenge blog that features one Stampin' Up! stamp set per week. If you've ever had a set that just stumps you check out our blog-if we've featured the stamp set then there will be plenty of ideas for you! If we are featuring a set that really gets your creativity flowing then we hope you will join us by adding your contributions to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog page.

This week we are featuring Endless Thanks and I am really excited about my card this week. I wanted to do lots of fun layers so believe it or not I picked up all of these layers off of my craft table. I had cut all of them out for other projects and decided for whatever reason not to use them. I am a paper hoarder and will not throw anything useful out so all of these random pieces were just sitting there waiting for me to use them. I'm so happy with how beautifully they came together to make this card! I hope you like it too. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Do you ever make cards out of all of your scraps? Do you feel like they come together well?

Here's a little close up of the sentiment. I love the banner from this set and "friend" just fits so perfectly inside of there. The wooden "Thanks" gave this card a nice bit of texture and I finally got to use the white leaves from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies! I swear I punched those little beauties out in November the day after I got that bundle! If you're wondering where you can check the Botanical Bundle out you are in LUCK! Our new Occasions Catalog went live yesterday and pretty much everything in it is to die for! Combine that with FREE products from Sale-A-Bration for every $50 purchase (the best sale of the year) and we are all winning! Just FYI, if you have been thinking about joining Stampin' Up! this is the time to do it! For $99 you can join and receive $155 in product of your choice! Let me know if you are interested in hearing more! I myself joined during Sale-A-Bration two years ago and have never looked back!

In case you haven't had a chance to check it out closely here's what the whole Endless Thanks set looks like. It's pretty awesome!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will check out the rest of the design team's amazing projects over at the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog! If you have any questions about Sale-A-Bration and earning FREE PRODUCTS, or, if you're interested in joining my team please let me know! I would love to answer any questions that you may have!
Have an awesome day!
