WWYS #64: Rose Wonder

Hello, hello! Happy Monday and welcome back to another fabulous week of What Will You Stamp?! This week we are featuring a really popular set called Rose Wonder. You're probably looking at my card and thinking, "So, where's the rose?" That's right, I didn't use it. I opted for this beautiful leaf stamp instead. Along with many amazing sentiments the leaves are one of the many stamps that come in the Rose Wonder set. First I heat embossed my stamp (3x) onto water color paper. Then I used my aqua painter paint the background in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo.

I added Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves and I just love the subtle beauty that the WOS added to the leaves. I used the clear epoxy accent stickers to add a little texture without distracting too much from the leaves. I am so bummed these clear accent stickers are retiring as I just love them.

After mounting my image piece onto Basic Gray cardstock I thought it needed just a little something more... but something really subtle and barely there. I figured out a way to use the Silver Metallic Thread to make a fun border for my image and I am happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Here's another shot of the front of the card. This angle shows the glimmer from the Wink of Stella better than the first image I posted. Honestly, and I swear I am NOT tooting my own horn, this card is really beautiful in person. These pictures do not do it justice.

Well, a pretty card should have a pretty inside too, right?! So I tried something that I haven't tried before and it was fun! I squeezed my Bermuda Bay ink pad to get some ink in the lid. Then I used my Clear Wink of Stella to pick up just a little bit of the ink and I basically used the Wink of Stella brush tip to paint in these leaves. The color is very subtle. It doesn't look quite like the vibrant Bermuda Bay that I am used to but it is so pretty and of course the whole thing sparkles! This technique was so easy to do and the ink came right of the Wink of Stella brush tip (it didn't ruin it and it writes clear again). I will certainly be doing this again.

If you haven't seen it already here's what the whole Rose Wonder stamp set looks like. It's pretty fantastic and I love the many sentiments and the lovely font.

Do you have this stamp set? Do you have an awesome idea for using it and want to share it with the world? Well, the Design Team over at What Will You Stamp? would love to see your creations! OSAT Blog Hop: May Flowers

Hey, hey! It's One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop time and that means we have a lot of fantastic creations in store for you today! This month we have 15 talented artists who have each designed both a card and project for this month's May Flowers themed hop. You may be starting the hop here at my blog or you may have come from Melissa Davies blog (isn't she fantastic?!). Either way I hope you'll continue the whole hop and see everyone's creations. Just click the next button at the bottom of my post!

For my CARD I used the Helping Me Grow stamp set along with the Timeless Textures set. Helping Me Grow is my favorite flower set right now and I find it so easy to use as every single flower in this set is lovely. First I made the card with the So Saffron flower. Then I thought how pretty this card would be in different colors and gifted as a set so I made the same card in Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, and, Wisteria Wonder.

Here it is in So Saffron...

...and Soft Sky...

...and Pink Pirouette...

...and Wisteria Wonder.

For my PROJECT I decided to make a gift box to put my cards in. I used the same design for the front of the boxes (I made two sets to give away) but added some twine and a tag I made using the Lots of Labels Framelits.

Here's a close up of the tag I made. I love how it came out! I grunged it up a bit with two different stamps from the Timeless Textures set. The sentiment is pieced together from two stamps from Helping Me Grow. I really love the fonts in this stamp set.

Here's one last shot of my gift box with the cards in the background. I did stamp flowers on all of my envelopes too. They look rustic and lovely.

I hope you liked my cards and project for today because I sure had fun making them! For more fantastic May Flower projects please keep on hopping with us. Next up is the talented Anna Smith!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it was so nice to have you!

Lots of Love!!

Oh my goodness!! It's my favorite time of year!! It's that time when I (and all Stampin' Up! Demonstrators) get to order early from the new annual catalog! It's so fun to get my hands on new products and share what I've had so much fun making with you all! Today I had a little time to play around with a new stamp set called Lots of Love and I love it! It's a Hostess set which means that you can only get it with a qualifying party or order. It's got some really cute little animals in this set and to me they screamed that they needed to watercolored. You're also getting a sneak peek at two of out new IN COLORS, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum.

I watercolored the elephant and mouse in Dapper Denim and then I used my Aqua Painter and Dapper Denim ink to paint some white baker's twine to match.

After the twine dried I punched a hole in my cardstock where my image would eventually hide the hole. I threaded the twine through and wrapped it around my cardstock. This is a great way to save twine and no one will ever even know!

Here's a video of how I made this card and of course I show how to do the background splatter, custom colored twine, twine hoarding "punch in the middle of the card" technique, and, of course the watercolored shadow below the elephant and mouse. I hope you enjoy it!

Here's another close up of the adorable elephant and his little mouse friend. Too cute I say! What do you think?

I'll be sharing more sneak peeks as often as I can so please keep checking back and let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today-I'm so happy to have you!

WWYS #63: Going Global

Aaaaaand, we are back with another challenge over at What Will You Stamp! This week we are Going Global! This is cool set from the Occasions Catalog and I just love it! One of my favorite stamps in the set is the Big Dipper (Little Dipper?) with the stars around it. It's so great for creating celestial looking backgrounds. On this card I've used the this stamp but have hidden the dipper part of the stamp behind my main image. I did a lot of embossing for this card both in silver and in black but it was well worth it!

I used the DSP from the Going Places Suite and I just love the contrast between the dark and light colors. I heat embossed the compass image onto Basic Black and punched it out with my 2" Circle punch. I flagged some paper strips with my Banner punch to create a nice background and popped my compass up on dimensionals.

Here's the whole Going Global set. Pretty cool, right?! If you want it... Get it while you still can! The Occasions Catalog is retiring in a few weeks and I would hate for you to miss out on anything that you really wanted to have.
For more fun Going Global ideas check out the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog! Our design has fun ideas to share with you this week!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by my blog today!

WWYS #62: Flower Patch

Hey everybody! Welcome back to another fabulous week of What Will You Stamp! This week we are bringing you a Flower Patch challenge! I stamped the same large flower two times in Daffodil Delight and used the pieces of the flowers to make this card.

I just love the color combination of Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and the contrast between the Black and White DSP. It just looks so clean and crisp! I cut out the center of one of the flowers and added it to my main flower along with a candy dot to create some dimension. The leaf is from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. The sweet little sentiment is from the You're So Lovely stamp set.

This card was so quick and fun to make. I love it when a card comes together easily like that. Do you have this set yet? If not, here it is-check out how pretty it is!

If you want to see more ideas on how to use this set please hop on over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog and see what the rest of our design team has made to share this week. If you have a great idea of your own we would love to see it! Please enter your Flower Patch card or project into our weekly challenge. That's it for today folks! WWYS #61: Heartfelt Sympathy

Welcome back to another week of What Will You Stamp! This week's challenge is Heartfelt Sympathy. I used one of the smaller sentiments to make my card. When I make a sympathy card I try to make sure it's pretty in a subtle way. I don't like to add too much bling or too many embellishments but I do want my sympathy cards to be pretty. For this card I used Bermuda Bay and Pool Party and added embossing, vellum, silver and pearls to give it a soft, pretty look.

I used the Itty Bitty Flower Punch to make my flowers and used them to decorate the frame around the sentiment.

Here's what the whole set looks like. Lots of great sentiments for those times when it can be hard to find just the right words.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a great week!
-Maria.

WWYS #60: Bear Hugs

Hey Everybody! Welcome to week #60 of What Will You Stamp! This week our challenge is Bear Hugs and I used the adorable little cub from the set to make this simple card.

Here's a close up of the little bear. I heat embossed him in Early Espresso and watercolored him in with chocolate chip ink using my Aqua Painter. I cut him out by hand because I don't have the framelits that match this set (boo hoo!). It's ok, he was actually pretty easy to cut out. I layered him on some Sweet Lil Things DSP and again onto a silver doily. I topped the card off with silver metallic thread and some Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy sticker hearts.

In case you haven't checked out this whole set, here ya go! It's pretty fun but my favorite stamp in the whole set really is the adorable little bear cub. He just looks like he wants to give someone a hug so badly! I love hugs! I'll take it little bear!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you want to see more incredible cards made with this set please hop on over to the What Will You Stamp Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the team has made. If you have a great idea of your own please post it to our page this week-We can't wait to see What You Will Stamp!

OSAT Blog Hop: Tic Tac Toe

Hi there! Welcome back to another fabulous OSAT Blog Hop! This time around we've got twenty fabulous hoppers each with both a card and a project to share with you. You may be starting here at my blog or you may have come from the uber talented, former SU Artisan Jeanna Bohanon! I hope you've got the time to make your way through the whole hop because it's going to be amazing!! Our theme for this month is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Any three in a row and it's a go! Here is our playing board...

I chose the top row across: Lace, Twine and Brads! How fun! Here is my project...
I used the Helping Me Grow set from the current Occasions catalog and Butterfly Basics from the Annual catalog. I heat embossed my flowers in black on watercolor paper and watercolored them in with Blackberry Bliss ink. I stamped some faux lace onto my background and wrapped real lace (mint macaron and venetian crochet) around my image piece then topped it off with twine. Are  you having trouble finding my brad?

There it is! I added a mini silver brad to the beautiful (lace patterned) butterfly and bent the back of the brad forward to look like antennae. I did want the butterfly to have beautiful long antennae though so I added silver metallic thread to get the look I wanted.

One of the little details on this card that I think is fun are the black ink spatters in the background. I did this by flicking the tip of my black Stampin Write marker on the inside of the cap. It sprays just the right amount of ink onto... everything (including your project hopefully-I was not so lucky the first couple of tries at this). I also crushed up a 2" circle of Typeset DSP to place behind the butterfly and added some clear dots to give the card a little something more. I hope you like it!

For my project I decided to use the same row again: Lace, Twine and Brads...
I made a gift bag and decided to use the same basic image layout but to heat emboss in white and clear instead. I also watercolored with reckless abandon instead of staying somewhat in the lines. I think it created an interesting batik look at the top of the flowers where I embossed in clear. I'm going to have to play around a bit more with this look. You might have to look closely but there are a lot of fun details on this project.

Here you go, lace, twine and brads all in one pic. This time I used a bow instead of a butterfly and that makes for a more subtle look.

I knew I wanted to something fun on the bottom of the bag but I also didn't want it to outshine the flowers. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Mint Macaron and layered it with a piece of vellum. I adhered the vellum underneath the image piece with Fast Fuse and below the sentiment with a brad. The small silver medallion underneath the wrinkled piece of DSP gives this bag a little bit more of a vintage feel... I think...right? Does it? Someone tell me please!

The last thing I added to this bag is one of the mini silver clothespins. I tied a little bow around it and it's just so pretty against that speckled paper.

That's it for today! I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I hope you will keep hopping along with us. Please click the next button to continue on to the fabulous Kim Smith! I'll say goodbye for now after just one more question... I'm curious to know if you prefer the flower I used today embossed in black or in white? Any particular reason why you like one better than the other? Thanks!

Have an amazing day and enjoy the hop! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Maria

I usually post a supply list but have to apologize for not doing so today as I'm a bit (a LOT) short on time. Ill try to make it up to you by posting the product lists and a How To with measurements for my card. As always, please feel to contact me with any questions that you may have.

WWYS #59: Made With Love

Happy, happy Monday! It's time for another round of What Will You Stamp and this week we are playing with Made With Love! This set is so adorable and pairs with the Baby's First Framelit Dies to make your life super simple. The other day I was in a hurry and needed a card for my friend's baby shower FAST! We don't know the gender of her baby but my friend is a real super star so it was a no-brainer to use this sheet from the It's My Party DSP. I used the framelits to cut out the adorable onesie and stamped, "Made With Love" on to it. I sponged the edges of the onesie just a bit to give it a little more visual appeal and that was just about it...

I added a contrasting piece of DSP on top of the stars and stuck a twist of silver cording behind the onesie. Here's a close up of the adorable little thing! I really dig this sentiment "Made With Love" too and I think I'll soon be stamping it on the outside of a gift card pack I'll be making for my Granny.

Here's the whole stamp set. I just love the cute little animals in this one! Easter is coming up and I think I'm going to have to do something fun with the bunny (oh, hi! lopsided ears!) and the cute, little chickie.

What's your favorite stamp in this set? Can you name just one? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for stopping my blog today. If you have this stamp set I hope you'll play along with us this week over at What Will You Stamp-I would love to see what you come up with for this stamp set!
Have a great day and I'll see you all soon!
